EXPLANATION OF OUR SHIPPING POLICIES

The one area that has been an unpleasant experience since we started this business, is the problems regarding lost packages.

This is not only expensive for us but is also disruptive and even worse than all of that is that our customers are left with a bad experience and our integrity is questioned.

In February 2008 we changed our shipping policies for domestic mail and made insurance mandatory on all shipments in the USA. Four or five packages were being lost per month. Since February of 2008 there has not been one lost package. This is good for our customers, good for us and it also seems to encourage the postal service to be a little more careful as well.

To try and help our overseas customers we did not also make insurance mandatory at that time.
Insuring overseas shipments changes the method of delivery from air mail first class international to either priority mail or express mail and the rates triple.

We offered the option of continuing to ship 1st class air with no insurance if the customer agreed to the understanding that it was at their risk and that we would not pay for their lost package. After all we are not in the shipping business and have no control over your shipment once we hand it to them.

As of 04-02-09 all foreign shipments will be shipped either by Priority Mail (insured) Express Mail (Insured) or 1st class International Air (registered).

First class air without insurance is no longer an option with our company, unless you send us an email stating that you accept full responsibility for lost or damaged packages. If you choose to do this complete your order using the higher shipping methods and then send us the email stating your acceptance of responsibility, we will then adjust the invoice and also purchase a certificate of mailing as proof to you that the package was indeed mailed.

Sorry that this was necessary but we can no longer afford to insure the postal service nor can we continue to pay for these losses and keep our prices sensible.

The rates on our website are for shipment of cds,the rates may be slightly lower for records and they may be slightly higher for books and certain other items. The postal service changed thier rates and some of thier services in May of 2007 and several of the changes made at that time made it virtually impossible to list exact rates for every destination,as it involves weight and size and distance. We weigh the box at time of mailing to insure the proper rate is charged,if there is any large difference we will notify you before shipping.
