FOLLOWING IS AN OUTLINE OF OUR SHIPPING POLICIES
The one situation that has been an unpleasant experience since we started this business, are the problems regarding lost or damaged packages.
This is not only an annoying expense for us, it disrupts our service as well and worse than all of this is that it leaves our customers with an unpleasant experience and poor feelings regarding our operation. We strive to do everything we can possibly do to make dealing with us a positive experience. But we do not deliver mail. Its not only illegal for us to do that but it is also quite impossible.
In February 2008 we amended our shipping policies for domestic mail and made insurance mandatory on all shipments in the USA. Prior to this time four or five packages were being lost per month. Since February of 2008 there has not been one lost package.Must be magic !!!!! This is good for our customers, good for us and it seems to encourage the postal service to be a little more careful as well.
To try and control the costs for our overseas customers we did not make insurance mandatory at that time, As most of you know adding insurance to overseas shipments changes the method of delivery from air mail first class international to either priority mail or express mail and the rates triple. The best rate with the post office was first class registered and that was also expensive.
We are still shipping via USPS (foreign & domestic) but we are now using Endicia, and they allow First Class International Air Postage with insurance without changing the method of shipment to a more expensive class.Insurance is mandatory on all international shipments and the exact purchase price has to be entered on the customs forms. Please don't ask us to list lower amounts on these forms to avoid customs charges. This is illegal and we will not do that......Of course we still offer International priority mail which includes insurance.Express Mail and Global Express is no longer listed but you can request this service if you desire, please email us and we will give you a rate. Please understand that there is no tracking service included unless you purchase Priority International,Express Mail,Registered Mail or Global Express.
If you do have a lost or damaged package that was shipped with Endicia, it is paid for by an insurance company rather that the US Postal Service, this means less red tape but please note that there is however a 40 day waiting period before a claim can be filed.Your package is still delivered via the US Postal system and all rules & regulations are the same.
The rates on our website are for shipment of cds,the rates may be slightly lower for records (due to weight) and they may be slightly higher for books and certain other items. We weigh the box at time of mailing to insure the proper rate is charged, if there is any large difference we will notify you before shipping.
We are often asked what the cost of postage is.Following is an approximate figure, the rates are listed to give you somewhat of a guide, please understand that the exact rate may be different when you check out,but this is close.
International destinations excluding Canada & Mexico
12.64 for first item plus 1.51 for each item in the package
Domestic
3.59 for the first item and 1.63 for each item in the package
Included in the prices are handling charges such as packaging and other costs.
